Session
Description:
The
Check 21 initiative enables banks to exchange electronic images
of checks instead of paper. The result is the automation
of the payment clearing process, making payments faster, simpler
and more secure.
This legislation increases the efficiency of the nation's
check clearing system by permitting the truncation of the
original paper check from the clearing process and enable
electronic image processing.
This
presentation will discuss how
institutions allocate their budget dollars and execute strategies
to recognize this critical market shift. Information
presented in this conference will allow firms to plan and
execute effective strategies.
Topics under discussion will include:
* The impact of Check 21 on central check processing
including proof, capture (both image-based and traditional
MICR-based) and related image-based technologies.
* Readiness for Check 21 in terms
of branch operations including teller, platform/CSR, ATM,
branch communications, etc.
* Activity and plans regarding distributed capture,
check truncation/ARC, check archival and other timely topics
of interest.
ESP Consulting’s Check
& Image Processing in the 21st Century program
is currently in the field and when completed in September
will include surveys with over 500 US financial institutions
with $250Mn or more in deposits. This teleconference provides
a preview of the data using preliminary results from the first
150+ completed surveys to allow attendees to gain a head-start
for business planning in this challenging area.
This program is appropriate for senior financial executives
with responsibility for Retail Marketing, Item Processing,
Lockbox Marketing, Product Development, Market Research and
Strategy Teams.
